Summary of the Role
Responsible for handling accounting and financial reporting tasks, including providing support to Regional Headquarters and Local Finance Team.
Note: Open to both Malaysians or Singapore candidates (citizen/PR)
Key Functions / Responsibilities
- Manage full spectrum of accounting responsibilities, including general ledger, accounts receivables, inventories, fixed assets, accruals and corporate tax computations
- Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in SAP
- Timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end financial & expense reports
- Input month-end and quarter-end reporting packages within STRAVIS by established deadlines
- Prepare intercompany recharges, debit notes, reconciliations and statement of accounts
- Perform monthly review, validate and analysis of inventory balances, including slow moving, obsolete and inventory aging including adjustments for freight, and GR/IR reconciliation
- Identify inventory items requiring provision for impairment based on company policy or accounting standard.
- Monthly update of month-end closing exchange rates in SAP system
- Prepare management reporting in WorkDay Adaptive for separate management P/Ls
- Prepare regulatory reporting to regulators and tax authorities (e.g. GST returns, income and expenditure report and annual surveys)
- Manage statutory audits and preparation of estimated chargeable income, tax compliance and tax return declarations
- Support process improvement and automation initiatives
- Support implementation of new and revised Financial Reporting Standards (FRS 118, FRS 119 & Amendments to FRS 109) and sustainability reports
- Ad-hoc financial duties and filings assigned
Functional / Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of general accepted accounting principles, IFRS and SFRS
- Ability to work across functional business teams
- Self-driven, committed to continuous improvement, and aligned with Terumo’s core values
- Meticulous and have a keen eye on details.
- Strong numeric and analytical abilities
- “Hands on” attitude with a high level of initiative and drive
- Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- Operating knowledge of SAP and experience with automation tools will be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power BI
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy/finance
- Accreditation from / member of any professional institution (e.g. CPA, CA) will be an added advantage
- More than 3 years of relevant experience and prior experience with Big 4/MNCs is advantageous
- Regional experience will be an added advantage
- Good working knowledge of English (written and spoken)
