About the role

We're seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join our team in Kempas, Johor. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality bookkeeping and accounting services.

Job Description

• Having experience in full-set accounting will be advantageous for this role.
• Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations, and taxation documentation.
• Preparing monthly and annual financial statements.
• Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems using ERP software.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage day-to-day financial operation activities, daily banking, bank reconciliation, and monthly financial statements on profit and loss accounts.
• Ensure accurate balancing of accounts, including the general ledger and sub-ledgers.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank statements and company records.
• Review and post journal entries for bank charges, interest, and adjustments.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as and when assigned by management from time to time.

Job Requirement

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably within the Accounting and Small Practice Accounting industry.
• Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in Mandarin, Malay, and English. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
• Relevant accounting qualifications or certifications (e.g., ACCA, LCCI) are preferred.
