Responsibilities

Review customer RFQs, BOM, Gerber files, pick-and-place data, assembly drawings, 3D models, and specifications.

Identify SMT process requirements: stencil type, pad design, reflow profile, component density, panelization, PCB thickness, and special processes.

Identify process router based on PCBA design.

BOM analysis (SMD, PTH-wave, PTH-selective, hand solder …).

Verify manufacturing feasibility based on equipment capability and factory constraints.

Highlight technical risks and propose process solutions.

Cost Breakdown and Estimation

Conduct cost breakdown:

• SMT indirect material cost (solder paste, solder wire, solder bar, flux)
• Tooling and Fixtures (SMT pallet, stencil, pallet, depanel jig …)
• Assembly labor cost (SMT placement, AOI, reflow, manual soldering)
• Testing cost (ICT, FCT, functional test fixtures)
• Packaging and logistics

Estimate cycle time, machine utilization, and manpower for SMT production.

Prepare competitive pricing based on manufacturing data and market standards.
