Job summary

A leading electronics manufacturing company in Penang is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to manage the quality system documents and support audits. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and has at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in root cause analysis, ISO standards, and quality methodologies like Six Sigma is crucial. This role involves collaboration with internal teams to enhance document management and compliance with quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in related roles, in electronics manufacturing industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO/TS 16949.
• Understanding of quality methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or TQM.

Responsibilities

• Review, register, update and distribute quality system documents.
• Analyse documents with internal functional teams for yearly improvement.
• Monitor quality records archiving per Quality Record Archiving SOP.
• Support QMS manager in audits of processes, products, systems & environments.
• Handle external audits like Customer and Certification body audit.
• Submit RoHS/REACH compliant documents timely.
• Monitor equipment calibration per Master list schedule.
• Support purchasing team for supplier audit.

Job description

• Responsible to review, register, update and distribute quality system documents to ensure all documents are complying to QDOS documentation system.
• To analyse all levels of documents (Quality Manual, SOP, WI, Form & checklist) with internal functional teams for improvement on yearly basis.
• To monitor all quality records are archived at designated area (Document room, etc) as per retention period stated in Quality Record Archiving SOP.
• To support QMS manager to perform process, product, system & environment audits at various processes from time to time
• Responsible to handle external audits such as Customer audit, Certification body audit, and Internal audit.
• To submit RoHS/REACH Compliant documents and meet customer requirements timely.
• To follow up, monitor and update equipment calibration as per Master list schedule
• Support purchasing team for supplier audit.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, Physics or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in related roles, in electronics manufacturing industry preferred. Fresh graduates with internship in QA will also be considered.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram).
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO/TS 16949, etc.).
• Familiarity with quality methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Quality Management (TQM).
• Knowledge of document control and audit processes. i.e. RBA/TISAX
• Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
• Ability to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
