Job summary

A leading technology company in Malaysia is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee the development and update of quality documentation and conduct process audits for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering and 2-3 years' experience in quality within the semiconductor or PCB manufacturing industries. Proficiency in quality tools and languages including Bahasa Malaysia and English, and some Mandarin for liaising with counterparts in China is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in quality expertise in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant experience in the semiconductor industry or PCB manufacturing preferred.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare and update documentation such as procedures, work instructions and checklists related to In Process Quality Audit and FQA.
• Involve in updating first article run (FAI) for any process deviation and special order and submit to customer for approval.
• Conduct the weekly process audit as per the control plan to find opportunities for continuous improvement with a systemic approach and error proof.
• Coordinate corrective action taken to be effectively implemented and maintained by the relevant manufacturing section.
• Lead the team from Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Equipment Engineering/Production and other related departments for improvement through the weekly Quality Improvement Team Meeting (QIT).
• Provide systemic and error proof actions in order to reduce risk in the production process and customer feedback.
• Utilize quality improvement tools and develop strategy in problem solving for continuous improvement.
• Lead as customer new product transfer and qualification.
• Update and submit the Quality Weekly Report to customer on time as per agreement, responsible for handling the purge part with proper record and validation.
• Liaise with customer, ensuring that the customer quality requirements are met; customer feedback are well coordinated and resolved. On component quality issue so the customer shall coordinate the corrective action from the component supplier.
• Coordinate for the customer audit.
• Involve in determining disposition of non-conforming material on MRB.
• Review process data and statistical chart.
• Prepare the report for Continuous Improvement Project and Error Proof Project for submission to customer and for review and approval.
• Respond for any customer feedback with 8D and submission on time.
• Lead team on root cause investigation, corrective and preventive action and update the comprehensive 8D.
• Update and submit Continuous Improvement Project and Error Proof Project based on customer quarterly target.
• Update and submit for self audit finding with action taken to customer as a Quality Alert Notification based on customer quarterly target.
• Ensure all the SPC items are meeting the CPK target by driving the team for continuous improvement.
• Ensure the In Line Reject percentage is meeting the customer target.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• At least 2-3 years of related working experience in quality expertise and work in a high paced environment.
• Be familiar with quality tools (CPK, SPC, FMEA).
• Problem solving capability and familiar with 8D methodology.
• Relevant working experience in semi-conductor industry or PCB manufacturing is preferred.
• Language: Bahasa Malaysia, English and ability to communicate, read and write in Mandarin (to liaise with China counterpart).
