Job summary

A leading advanced materials company in Penang is seeking a Senior Engineer to oversee the implementation of company policies, enhance quality and productivity, and manage operational expansion. The ideal candidate should possess at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the manufacturing sector. Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to work under minimal supervision. Responsibilities
  • Oversee implementation of company’s policies, procedures and work instructions for higher quality and productivity.
  • Ensure all related activities are monitored and necessary actions are taken to meet operations KPI and on-time delivery.
  • Liaise with customer(s) and supplier(s) as and when required.
  • Initiate and implement operational expansion and process improvement for quality and cost efficiency improvement.
  • Lead, coach and motivate subordinates, ensure high morale and teamwork across the organization.
  • Review the performance of subordinates.
  • Estimate costs and set the work standards during the operational expansion and ongoing operations.
  • Identify training needs.
  • Responsible for equipment utilization and yield.
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed by all operations staff.
  • Draft a timescale for the job being assigned in the operational expansion and ongoing operations.
  • Undertake other special assignments, ad-hoc job / project as and when required.
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree / master’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical or electrical engineering or any related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience as Staff / Principal or Senior engineer in manufacturing or related industry.
  • Strong leadership, manpower planning, production management and analytical skills are an added advantage.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sense of ownership, self‑motivated, disciplined and result‑oriented with strong initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced environment and flexible schedule to meet urgent customer needs.
