Position Summary
Support the strategic procurement of Aircraft & Engineering (A&E) goods and services within Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG). This role involves executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and company policies. The Procurement Specialist will collaborate closely with internal teams and report directly to the Category Lead to drive cost efficiencies and value creation.
Key Accountability
- Execute sourcing strategies for A&E categories, leading end-to-end procurement activities from RFQ to contract execution, ensuring supplier selection is based on quality, cost, delivery, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor industry trends, and assess supplier innovations; perform cost benchmarking to secure competitive pricing and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms while ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards; oversee the full contract lifecycle, including execution, communication of guidelines, and compliance monitoring.
- Manage and nurture supplier relationships, monitoring performance against KPIs and SLAs, addressing issues promptly to minimize disruptions, and maintaining accurate records of contracts and performance data.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, and Logistics teams to align procurement strategies with operational requirements and fleet maintenance schedules.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, developing strategies to maintain service quality and operational continuity.
- Drive value engineering and process improvement initiatives to achieve cost savings and enhance procurement efficiency.
- Prepare regular reports for the Category Lead, highlighting procurement activities, cost savings, risk assessments, and supplier performance outcomes.
- Lead sourcing and supplier optimization projects, ensuring delivery within budget and timelines while consistently meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
Qualification & Working Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 6–7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the aviation or engineering sector.
Areas of Experience
- Understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, including RFQ, supplier selection, and contract management.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP, Ariba, and advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, for cost analysis and reporting.
