Job summary

A leading energy company is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager in Johor to oversee the procurement lifecycle and manage supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and 10–15 years of experience in procurement within the oil & gas or marine industry. Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of procurement processes are essential. This position involves significant coordination with project management and engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
  • Experience in oil & gas, marine, or EPC/EPCI industry.

Position:

Procurement Manager

Scope of Works:
  • Lead and oversee the entire procurement lifecycle from planning, sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, to contract award and supplier performance management.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support project execution in line with MMHEs business objectives and client requirements.
  • Manage procurement for EPC/EPCI projects, including major equipment, bulk materials, subcontract services, and logistics.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions, bid evaluations, and recommendations in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures, ISO standards, and project‑specific procurement plans.
  • Liaise with project management, engineering, and finance teams to ensure seamless coordination between technical and commercial requirements.
  • Negotiate and finalize commercial terms with suppliers and subcontractors to optimise cost and delivery.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships to enhance sourcing capabilities and vendor performance.
  • Monitor procurement KPIs (cost savings, lead time, supplier performance) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor, guide, and supervise the procurement team to enhance capability and performance.
Minimum Requirement(s):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the oil & gas, marine, or EPC/EPCI industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and commercial practices in large‑scale projects.
