Job summary

A reputable sourcing and procurement firm in Selangor seeks a dedicated Purchasing Officer to oversee sourcing, negotiations, and purchasing operations. Candidates must have at least a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or Procurement and a minimum of 3 years of sourcing experience. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential, and experience with suppliers is preferred. The role requires strong communication skills and a positive, self-motivated attitude. This position operates on a 5-day workweek.

  • Pleasant personality and able to interact with all levels of people.
  • Mandarin will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and consumables.
  • In charge of operational purchasing needs and follow-up on orders.
  • Research and evaluate prospective suppliers.

Job description

Responsible for sourcing, cost negotiations, credit term and buying of materials, consumable items, spare parts and etc.

In charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on purchase orders delivery.

Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.

Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.

Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.

Prepare monthly HOD reports focusing on overall sourcing requirements.

Liaise with suppliers, forwarders, customs officers to follow up on the status of shipments and handling delivery issues.

Maintain proper records of purchases, quotations/sources, suppliers’ information and shipping documentation.

To ensure all documentation are properly filled and kept for easy retrieval, required for reference check & audit purpose.

Ensure purchasing activities are complying to ISO requirements and within departmental objective.

Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Management.

Requirements

Possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Business Administration/Procurement or equivalent.

Minimum 3 years working experiences in sourcing and procurement.

Proficient in Microsoft office application.

Good communications and negotiation skills.

Pleasant personality and able to interact with all levels of people.

Good command of English & Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written), Mandarin will be an added advantage.

Attention to details, accurate and good at follow-up and follow-through.

Proven initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision skill.

Positive attitude, self-motivated, responsible, and able to work within deadlines.

5 working days per week.
