Job Responsibilities:

The Process Technician will be performing the following:

Plant Operations

  • Operate process units in accordance with Standard Operating Plans, Daily Operating Instructions, Standing Instructions, and HSSE procedures.
  • Maintain operations within the Design-Operating-Window and Integrity-Operating-Window.
  • Conduct structured rounds (DCS Panel/Field), take corrective actions, and manage plant/equipment upsets, abnormal conditions, and emergencies.
  • Support shutdowns and start-ups, daily maintenance coordination, and minor maintenance activities.
  • Perform sampling and basic laboratory tests.
  • Update operational procedures and prepare job pack documentation for equipment repair.

Safety & Compliance

  • Perform the role of Authorized Gas Tester (AGT), including gas testing, zero energy checks, and permit issuance for maintenance and turnaround activities.
  • Act as Auxiliary Fire Fighter during emergencies when assigned.
  • Maintain safe work environments, good housekeeping, and accurate operational records for effective shift handovers.

Innovation & Technology

  • Apply emerging technologies, robotics, and automation for plant surveillance, inspections, and operational tasks.
  • Use data technologies for routine field logging, performance monitoring, and reporting.

Other Duties

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

We welcome both fresh graduates and experienced candidates.

  • Nitec/Higher Nitec in Chemical Process Technology or Diploma in Chemical Engineering / Chemical & Green Technology / Clean Energy.
  • For experienced hires: At least 3 years of relevant experience in chemical processing or oil refining/utilities (e.g. steam boilers and Cogeneration for Process Units) will be an advantage.
  • Able to operate DCS independently (Training will be provided for fresh graduates).
  • WSQ Qualifications in workplace safety and health for process plants/manufacturing sites are an advantage.
  • Mandatory HSSE competency requirement specifically on ACSSEW (Confined space safety assessor)
  • Qualified as a gas tester and/or confined space assessor.
  • Flexible to perform both shift work and day-work, as well as overtime, when required.

Work Location: Pulau Bukom or Jurong Island.
