Job description
Purpose of Role

The Primary Class Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality learning and teaching in Straits International School Rawang. The role focuses on providing engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in line with the Cambridge Primary curriculum and ISP’s Learning First approach.

The Primary Class Teacher will be a reflective practitioner who demonstrates strong classroom practice, maintains high expectations for all learners, and contributes positively to the wider school community. They will support students’ academic, social, and emotional development while fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning.

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality, engaging, and differentiated lessons in line with the Cambridge Primary curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain a stimulating and well‑organised classroom environment that supports learning.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources, including technology, to meet the needs of all learners.
Classroom Management and Student Wellbeing
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere that fosters student learning and personal development.
  • Implement effective behaviour management in line with school policies.
  • Support both the academic and emotional wellbeing of students.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues in planning and sharing best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, maintaining open and supportive dialogue.
  • Participate in school events, activities, and meetings as required.
  • Uphold the values, ethos, and policies of the school at all times.
Line Management

The Teacher will report to Head of Primary/Phase Lead.

Qualifications And Experience
  • Education: Relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE OR Bachelor Education) or equivalent international teaching qualification/Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Can deliver a balanced, broad and differentiated curriculum for their learners.
