Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Penang seeks a Planning Manager to oversee MPS and MRP processes. Responsibilities include coordinating with departments, analyzing order trends, and ensuring alignment with demand forecast and inventory strategy. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of managerial experience in manufacturing and a strong grasp of ERP systems. Fluency in Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, and English is essential for communication with international counterparts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years working experience in related field and at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially in sheet metal or precision machining is preferred.
• Good command of Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, and English for coordination.

Responsibilities

• Work with order management to get clear customer order information in ERP.
• Supervise the preparation and review of MPS & MRP.
• Monitor the issuance of work orders and ensure data accuracy.
• Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, and Production to resolve issues.
• Lead system enhancement related to planning workflow.
• Prepare and review planning reports and monitor KPIs.

Job description

Planning Manager (Planning capacity to run MRP)

Work with order management, get clear customer order information in ERP and VOI by mail.

Regular analysis VOI accuracy and sales order trend; as for stable demand with long lead time, able to prepare safety stock.

Supervise the preparation and review of MPS & MRP to ensure alignment with demand forecast, capacity and inventory strategy.

Monitor the issuance of work orders; ensure all data accuracy and timely release to production.

Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing and Production to resolve material shortages, capacity constraints and delivery issues.

Supervise, train and evaluate planners to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency.

Lead system enhancement or process improvement related to planning workflow (ERP / MPS / MRP).

Prepare and review planning related reports, monitor KPIs and recommend corrective actions.

Perform any ad-hoc tasks assigned by superior.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in equivalent field.

Minimum 5 years working experiences in related field and at least 5 years in managerial role. (Within manufacturing environment - sheet metal, precision machining or assembly preferred.)

Strong understanding of MPS / MRP concepts and ERP system operation.

Good command of Excel and planning tools.

Analytical, communication and leadership skills.

Good communication skills in written and spoken Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and English. to co-ordinate with China counterpart. Mandarin speaker would have the most advantages.
