As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing overall operational leadership and coordination across the company’s manufacturing and logistics operations. This role focuses on day-to-day operational alignment, delivery performance, and cross-functional coordination, while working closely with overseas group stakeholders.
Based in Batu Pahat, Johor, this is a full-time position.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide overall operational direction and cross-functional coordination for day-to-day manufacturing activities, working closely with relevant departments to ensure effective production planning, manpower allocation, line balancing, and timely issue resolution
- Coordinate inventory management and material flow across procurement, planning, and warehouse functions to support uninterrupted production and on-time delivery performance
- Oversee logistics operations by coordinating transportation, warehousing, and shipment activities with internal teams and external service providers
- Act as the primary operational point of contact for overseas group stakeholders, ensuring alignment on production capacity, quality standards, delivery timelines, and overall operational expectations
- Manage operational communication and escalation with overseas stakeholders when facing production constraints, quality issues, or delivery risks
- Monitor and analyse key operational KPIs, including output, efficiency, scrap rate, overtime, inventory levels, and on-time delivery, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive operational cost control initiatives, including labour efficiency, overtime optimisation, scrap reduction, and operational expense management
- Coordinate operations and information flow between related group entities to ensure alignment, efficiency, and clear accountability
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, procurement, and logistics teams to resolve operational issues and implement process improvements
- Prepare for and support customer audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews, ensuring operational and documentation readiness
- Lead, manage, and develop the operations team through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and capability building
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, internal policies, and workplace safety standards
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an operations or manufacturing management role
- Experience managing manufacturing operations through cross-functional coordination rather than purely hands-on execution
- Proven experience working directly with overseas stakeholders in a cross-border manufacturing or supply chain environment
- Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, logistics, inventory management, and cost control principles
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance operational realities with stakeholder expectations
- Effective leadership and people management skills, with experience leading supervisors and operational teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Experience working in a group or multi-entity manufacturing environment is an advantage
- Diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification in operations management, engineering, logistics, or a related discipline
