Job summary

A logistics company is seeking an Ocean Operation Executive to coordinate ocean freight operations, manage shipping documents, and liaise with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience, a diploma in Logistics or related fields, and strong skills in managing import/export operations. Fluency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. This role demands attention to detail and the ability to work independently under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Full knowledge of ocean operational import & export, including costing and billing.
  • Able to handle import/export operational matters and customs related issues.

Job description

The Ocean Operation Executive is responsible for coordinating and managing ocean freight operations (import and export) to ensure shipments are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Handle ocean freight operations for Import & Export (FCL / LCL)
  • Prepare, verify, and manage shipping documents including:
    • Bill of Lading (BL)
    • Shipping Instructions
    • Delivery Order (DO)
  • Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, overseas agents, warehouses, and customers
  • Monitor vessel schedules, ETA/ETD, and shipment status
  • Coordinate customs clearance and delivery arrangements
  • Resolve operational issues such as delays, schedule changes, and documentation discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations
  • Update operational systems and prepare shipment-related reports
  • Support sales and finance teams when required
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned from time to time
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a related field
  • Minimum education: SPM/Diploma/Advanced/Logistics Transportation or equivalent
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Full knowledge of ocean operational import & export, including costing and billing
  • Able to handle import/export operational matters and customs related issues
  • Can work independently with minimum supervision, possessing good analytical skills, integrity, and commitment to excellence
  • Meticulous, committed and able to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Fluent in English & Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken
