Job description

The MRO Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's MRO activities. This role ensures the efficient and cost-effective management of maintenance, repair, and operational supplies and processes to maximize the uptime and reliability of equipment and facilities. The MRO Manager will develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory, streamline procurement, and improve maintenance workflows, contributing to overall operational efficiency and cost savings.

Responsibilities
MRO Inventory Management
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies for MRO parts and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels, track usage, and establish optimal stock levels to ensure timely availability while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Implement and manage a system for identifying critical spares and ensuring their availability.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, and issuance of MRO items.
Procurement and Vendor Management
  • Manage the procurement process for MRO goods and services, including sourcing, vendor selection, and negotiation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with MRO suppliers.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve favorable terms.
  • Implement strategies for cost reduction and value analysis in MRO procurement.
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to understand their MRO needs for planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the timely availability of necessary parts and supplies for maintenance schedules.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
MRO Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within the MRO function.
  • Develop and document MRO policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Utilize data and analytics to identify trends, optimize inventory, and improve procurement strategies.
  • Implement and manage a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for MRO-related activities.
Budget Management
  • Develop and manage the MRO budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets.
  • Track MRO expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Provide regular reports on MRO costs and performance.
Compliance and Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations related to MRO activities.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures for the handling and storage of MRO materials.
Team Leadership and Collaboration (if applicable)
  • Supervise and manage MRO staff, including training, performance management, and development.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with maintenance, operations, and other relevant departments.
