Responsible for overseeing and optimizing poultry farm operations while managing key projects to improve efficiency and productivity. This role involves implementing best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards, leading a team, and driving technical and operational improvements across farm systems. The candidate will also manage farm-related projects from initiation to completion to support business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Farm Operations Management
- Oversee daily farm operations and farm production to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Monitor environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, ventilation) to maintain ideal living conditions for poultry.
- Direct and ensure all Farms Management to continue to comply with the criteria set by the Department of Veterinary Services for the continual certification of MyGAP (Malaysia Good Agricultural Practices); and Trong Layer Farm Management to continually comply with the criteria of ISO 9001 Quality Management System for the purpose of continual ISO 9001 certification.
- To ensure efficient and continuous improvement in producing day-old‑chick, eggs and fertilizer to meet targeted quantity and quality, at the optimal cost.
Project Management
- Plan, execute, and monitor farm‑related projects such as infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and process improvements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely and cost‑effective project delivery.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and KPIs while ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Conduct post‑project evaluations to measure outcomes and identify lessons learned.
Technical Support and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular farm audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of farm supervisors and workers to achieve operational goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in poultry farm management, with proven experience managing technical or operational projects.
- Strong knowledge of poultry production, nutrition, health, and biosecurity practices.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel and work in farm environments.
