A prominent hotel in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Maintenance Manager responsible for overseeing the safety and functionality of the building. The role involves managing maintenance tasks, ensuring high standards of service, and coaching team members. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry and demonstrate strong leadership skills. Candidates must be Malaysian residents with a valid employment permit.
Maintenance Manager is reporting directly to the General Manager, in charge to oversee the safety and functionality of the building. This position is based at KLoe Hotel, Bukit Bintang.
The overall duty of a Maintenance Manager is to ensure excellent guest experience through maintenance of the building, its equipment, facilities and services in the building.
It is also the expectation of the role to work closely with the team members of Maintenance Department - to grow as a team by empowering and coaching the members to their highest potential in the roles.
To manage to maintain the functions of all the M&E services to achieve smooth and effective operations, this includes setting up a preventive maintenance plan.
Ensure consistent coaching and leadership for the Maintenance team to continuously produce high standard of deliverables as a team.
Ensure smooth operations of all systems and services according to the preventive maintenance schedule.
To manage and carry out inspections on the condition of the building, prepare reports and recommendations for rectification or improvement.
To manage the development and implement continuous improvement initiatives or upgrading of equipment in the premise.
To manage the performance any other functions of the building’s repair and maintenance in regards to but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, staining and varnishing, faucet repair, caulking, measuring, sewage disposal, etc.
To manage and monitor the suppliers and contractors in relation to working hours, mobilization, building safety and privacy of the guests. To ensure the services provided are completed in time and effective.
To attend to the guest’s requests and feedback tactfully and resolve matters satisfactorily within assigned timelines to achieve the highest guest satisfaction.
To prepare reports as and when needed or required. This includes, but is not limited to spare part inventory.
To perform general repair maintenance and servicing for all the facilities in the premises with the highest degree of efficiency so as to contribute in cost saving and resources.
You may be required to attend to maintenance issues at properties within our group of companies upon request.
To ensure the upkeep of all furniture & fixtures, engineering and building systems in workable conditions during inspections.
To manage calling of quotations for ad-hoc/preventive contract works.
To plan, coordinate and supervise periodic maintenance inspections of properties.
To support the growth and development of the team members of the department.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Maintenance Manager or similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle and delegate multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
Valid Chargeman certification would be an added advantage.
