Job description

Job Purpose

The Subject Teacher is responsible to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfil their academic potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the Principal.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. To teach KSSM syllabus of respective subject.
2. Engaging young minds and helping them explore the world.
3. Nurturing children and teenagers to grow holistically.
4. Guiding students to explore academic content and apply it in the real world.
5. Prepare test papers and revision papers to prepare students for their exams.
6. Managing students in a class.
7. Planning and executing CCA programmes & activities.
8. Creating lesson plans in compliance with school curriculum, administering homework and school projects, grading the work, and giving appropriate feedback to the students.
9. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management.

Job and Person Specification

Essential Specification (Must-have)

1. Possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Education/Teaching or equivalent.
2. Strong commitment and passion for education and concern for students' welfare.
3. PC literate and able to use multi‑media resources in the classroom.
4. Highly motivated, full of initiative, disciplined and responsible.
5. Strong commitment and passion for education.
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Fluent in written and verbal English and BM.
8. Excellent Subject knowledge in their respective subject.

Desirable Specification (Added advantage)

1. Relevant teaching certification (eg CICTL, DICTL, PGCE).
2. At least two (2) years of teaching experience in relevant field in Private School.
3. Ability to show evidence of further professional development.
4. Ability to teach outside of specialist area.
5. Ability to use and understand assessment data.
