Position Overview
The IT Specialist ensures the stability, security, and reliable operation of the organization’s IT systems and infrastructure. This role supports daily business operations through hands-on IT support, system and network administration, cybersecurity controls, cloud services management, and disaster recovery readiness, while ensuring system availability, data protection, and compliance with internal policies and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Operations & Technical Support
- Provide end-user and infrastructure support for desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, system, and network issues to ensure minimal downtime and service disruption.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and system health checks.
- Systems & Network Administration
- Administer and maintain Windows operating systems, including patch management and endpoint security controls.
- Manage and secure network infrastructure such as firewalls, VPNs, broadband connectivity, VLANs, and managed switches.
- Ensure network performance, reliability, and protection against unauthorized access.
- Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Monitor security logs, alerts, and system activity to detect and respond to threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support incident response activities.
- Implement and enforce IT security policies, controls, and best practices.
- Stay informed on emerging cyber threats and apply preventive measures accordingly.
- Linux & Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Deploy, manage, and secure Ubuntu Linux servers.
- Provision, monitor, and secure cloud-based servers and services.
- Implement access control, encryption, monitoring, and backup strategies in cloud environments.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Implement and maintain backup solutions for on-premise and cloud systems.
- Support disaster recovery planning and testing to meet RPO and RTO requirements.
- Maintain documentation related to backup schedules, recovery procedures, and system configurations.
- Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate IT documentation, SOPs, and configuration records.
- Work closely with internal teams to support operational and business requirements.
- Provide basic IT security awareness and guidance to users when required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in IT support, system administration, and cybersecurity.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Windows OS and endpoint security management
- Network security, including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and managed switches
- Ubuntu Server administration and maintenance
- Cloud server management
- Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including vulnerability management and incident response.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple IT responsibilities effectively.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
