A leading IT distribution company is seeking an experienced In-Country Sales Head in Kuala Lumpur. The role involves developing and executing sales strategies, overseeing vendor relationships, and ensuring operational excellence aligned with the company's strategy. The ideal candidate will have 8-12+ years of sales leadership experience in IT distribution, a strong network in the ICT partner ecosystem, and proven success in achieving revenue targets. The In-Country Sales Head for Malaysia is responsible for leading the entire sales organization within the Malaysian market. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, strengthening partner ecosystems, and ensuring operational excellence aligned with Redington’s regional SESA strategy. This position will oversee vendor relationships, channel expansion, and the performance of multiple business units in Malaysia.
1. Country Sales Strategy & Growth
Develop and execute Malaysia’s sales strategy in alignment with SESA and global business objectives.
Identify high-potential market segments (Cloud, Cybersecurity, Enterprise, Mobility, Consumer).
Drive new market opportunities with key vendors, resellers, ISVs, and enterprise customers.
Lead annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes for Malaysia.
2. Revenue & Business Performance
Own Malaysia’s P&L from a sales standpoint and ensure quarterly revenue targets are met.
Monitor KPIs, pipeline, profitability, and operational efficiency across all business units.
Implement data-driven governance, ensuring accurate CRM reporting and forecasting.
Strengthen relationships with key global vendors operating in Malaysia (AWS, Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.).
Expand channel partner ecosystem, ensuring partner enablement, onboarding, and performance improvement.
Lead country-level vendor negotiations, contracts, and business reviews.
Lead and develop the Malaysia sales team, ensuring alignment with Redington’s culture and performance standards.
Define clear KPIs, manage performance, and drive capability-building initiatives.
Promote collaboration between Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, and Operations.
Track market trends, pricing dynamics, and competitor movements in Malaysia’s ICT distribution market.
Provide strategic insights to SESA leadership to support decision-making and portfolio expansion.
Identify and escalation risks or market challenges proactively.
6. Governance, Compliance & Operational Excellence
Ensure compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements and Redington’s global governance standards.
Maintain proper documentation, approval flows, and financial discipline.
Ensure high-quality execution in sales operations and customer engagements.
8–12+ years of sales leadership experience in IT distribution, vendor management, or channel business.
Strong network within Malaysian ICT partner ecosystem is highly desirable.
Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and managing cross-functional teams.
Strong communication skills in English; local language (Bahasa Malaysia) is an advantage.
