Job description

Responsibilities

• Handle regular preventive maintenance on the SDx network and systems infrastructure in the data centers and in global PoP locations by means of executing changes in terms of physical, configuration and software.
• Support the expansion, upgrades and rollouts of new systems and network infrastructure involving hardware such as firewalls, data center switches and servers together with virtual network functions such as firewalls and virtual routers for SD-WAN.
• Support engineering teams on new product/feature implementation, node deployment and technical support matters.
• Work with relevant stakeholders to assess security vulnerability notices for all assets under SDx infrastructure and work on patching affected systems.
• Manage users and access to all SDx and related systems.
• Maintain an accurate record of assets and accompanying details for all hardware, software, physical and virtual devices deployed in the infrastructure.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems from a recognized institution.
• Have at least 5 years working experience in IP network.
• Possess expertise with routers and switches installation e.g. Juniper, Mellanox, Dell SONiC.
• Possess basic knowledge of Cisco SDWAN, VeloCloud SDWAN, Fortinet SDWAN, Aruba SilverPeak SDWAN and virtualization concepts.
• Possess basic knowledge of office applications skills e.g. Excel, Visio, Word.
• Possess the followings:
  • Good understanding of Internet routing protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, BGP, IPSEC VXLAN, OTV.
  • Understanding of Cloud, DevOps and Site Reliability concepts with good analytical and trouble-shooting skills in the area of technical fault isolation and rectification.
• Those who have the following will have an added advantage:
  • Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) or Juniper certifications (JNCIA, JNCIS).
  • Working experience in the operation of global managed service providers in the telco or cloud space.
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be a team player.
• Self-starter and highly driven with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
• Knowledge in NFV/SDN. Experience in design and implementation would be an advantage.
• Scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Python, Ansible).
