Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Work collaboratively at all levels and with key leaders to build and manage a “best in class” HR function.
2. Serve as a strategic business partner and consult with local management team to identify issues, root causes and make recommendations to improve results.
3. As the leader of Employee Relations, develop relationships with a multicultural workforce to help build employee engagement, evaluate and resolve issues and maintain a union-free environment.
4. Further professionalize the talent management initiative. Support the design and implementation of cost-effective and “best in class” recruiting, employee development, and retention strategies that support the business and foster a culture focused on productivity, safety, service, and quality.
5. Develop and ensure compliance with local programs and policies that support short and long-term business goals.
6. Solve complex problems; take a new perspective using existing solutions.
7. Work independently with minimal guidance.
8. Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes.
9. Resolve complex problems, often where precedent may not exist.
10. Lead project teams and train junior staff as needed.
11. Oversee employer branding, social media efforts (internal and external), diversity initiatives, and candidate experience, bringing forth ideas and best practices. Collaborate internally to execute innovative and cost-effective talent acquisition strategies.

What We Are Looking For

1. Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a 4-year degree.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; adept at multi-tasking, time management, with attention to detail.
3. Fluent in English, Malay, and Mandarin communication.
4. Proficient in reading and writing Malay to handle local government documents and ensure regulatory compliance. Strong stakeholder management with a can-do attitude.
5. Works independently with minimal guidance.
