Company Background

Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy solutions provider in Malaysia, specialising in the development, implementation, and operation of sustainable energy systems. The organisation manages end-to-end project execution, including installation, commissioning, and operations & maintenance. They are expanding their operations nationwide and looking for Head of Operations to join their team based in Kota Damansara!

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & P&L Management
  • Own the operational P&L for the region/market, responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and achieving financial targets for revenue, cost, and profitability.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that align with company goals for growth, market expansion, and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, forecast needs, and make data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency.
Operational Excellence & Process Optimization
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle: Scheduling, Design/Engineering, Permitting, Installation, Inspection, Interconnection, and Customer Service.
  • Implement and refine scalable processes, systems, and workflows to maximize productivity and reduce installation cycle times.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and safety standards (OSHA).
  • Manage relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, including managers and staff in design, permitting, installation, and service departments.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular reviews, and identify training and development needs for the team.
Customer Experience
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Customer Service departments to ensure a seamless and positive customer journey from signed contract to system activation.
  • Implement strategies to minimize customer complaints and enhance post-installation satisfaction, leading to positive reviews and referrals.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in operations management, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in the residential solar industry or a closely related field (e.g., residential construction, roofing, HVAC).
  • Demonstrated P&L management experience with a strong understanding of financial metrics and cost control.
  • Deep knowledge of solar installation processes, NEC codes, permitting requirements, and interconnection procedures.
  • Proven track record of successfully scaling operations in a high-growth environment.
