Location: RSC complex facilities, buildings, and external areas, including ad-hoc assignments at other designated sites.

Reports To: Supervisor / Assistant Supervisor and section Leader.

Purpose of Job

The Handyman (Civil & Structure) is responsible for performing repair, maintenance, and minor construction works on building structures, finishes, and fittings to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role supports the Engineering team in delivering efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality building maintenance services in compliance with Engineering EIMS standards.

  • Perform repair and maintenance of walls, ceilings, floors, doors, carpentry, painting, and windows.
  • Carry out plumbing works, including the repair and maintenance of domestic water pipes, waste pipes, sanitary fittings, and manholes.
  • Undertake bricklaying, plastering, and tiling works for repairs and improvements; execute concrete works, rendering, and patch repairs.
  • Perform external works such as road kerbs, road markings, external drains, and car park maintenance.
  • Inspect assigned areas, identify defects, and take corrective action or report issues to supervisors.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, cleaned, and stored.
  • Comply with safety procedures and PPE requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Attend required training to maintain legal compliance and competency.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates should have a Diploma or Certificate in Building or Civil Engineering with at least one year of relevant experience. Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and concrete repair is required. They must be able to work independently or in a team, possess good communication skills, and be physically fit for manual and outdoor tasks.
