A leading financial services firm in Kuala Lumpur is looking for an experienced financial leader to oversee corporate financial planning and investment initiatives. Responsibilities include managing relationships with banks and investors, evaluating financial risks, and supporting mergers and acquisitions. Candidates should have 10-15 years of experience in corporate finance with strong analytical skills and be familiar with Malaysian regulations. A bachelor's degree in finance is required, along with preferred professional certifications.
Lead corporate financial planning and investment initiatives.
Manage relationships with banks, investors, and stakeholders.
Evaluate and mitigate financial risks.
Oversee fundraising and capital management activities.
Support mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Some roles prefer or require a Master's or MBA.
Professional certifications: ACCA, CPA, CFA, CA, CIMA or equivalent are often preferred.
Years of relevant experience: Often 10‑15+ years total work experience; among those, several years in corporate finance, investment banking, or strategic finance roles. For senior roles, a minimum of 5 years in leadership or senior management capacity.
Domain / Industry Exposure: Experience in M&A, capital raising, strategic planning, valuations, working across industries or in the sector relevant to the hiring company. Exposure to public markets or investment funds / banks is a plus.
Financial modelling & valuation skills — ability to build robust models, analyse scenarios, forecast returns.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills — able to parse complex data and derive insights.
Regulatory / legal / accounting knowledge — familiarity with Malaysian financial regulations, Bursa Malaysia rules (if applicable), taxation, and accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS).
