Job summary

About This Role

Our client isseeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance team and oversee the full spectrum of finance & accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in construction finance, be commercially minded, and capable of leading a team while ensuring robust financial controls and compliance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Financial Management & Reporting

    • Oversee the full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, and inventory.

    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in a timely and accurate manner.

    • Ensure compliance with MFRS, statutory requirements, and internal controls.

    • Manage year‑end audits, liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulators.

  • Construction‑Specific Finance

    • Monitor project costing, budgeting, and cost control, including WIP, project margins, and variations.

    • Track progress billings, retention sums, claims, and certifications.

    • Analyse project profitability and provide insights to management on cost overruns or risks.

    • Support tender pricing and project feasibility analysis.

  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow

    • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

    • Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure timely collections.

    • Support financing arrangements, banking facilities, and fund utilization.

Job Requirements
  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.

  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant finance & accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or team‑leading role.

  • Strong preference for candidates from the Construction industry.

  • Proven hands‑on experience in full spectrum finance & accounting.

  • Solid understanding of project costing, WIP, and construction financial practices.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • High level of integrity, analytical ability, and problem‑solving skills.

Remuneration

MYR 8,000 - MYR 10,000
