Our client, a reputable multinational Logistics provider based in Petaling Jaya, is looking to appoint a Finance & Accounting Manager.
Summary
With Malaysia operating as both a country finance entity and the regional AP hub, this role holds dual responsibilities: leading end-to-end finance operations for Malaysia and overseeing the global Accounts Payable function.
Job Responsibilities
- Finance & Accounting
- Oversee and manage all accounting and financial operations for the Malaysia entity.
- Supervise month‑end, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure accurate reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements for Group consolidation purposes.
- Produce full sets of audited financial statements and provide supporting schedules for audits.
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion of statutory audits.
- Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies, internal controls, and statutory financial requirements.
- Develop financial analyses, annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and planning reports for management review.
- Provide insights on cost structures, margins, and financial performance to support strategic decisions.
- Prepare annual tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for Group reporting.
- Coordinate with tax advisors on corporate tax, SST/GST, and other statutory filings.
- Manage withholding tax submissions for non‑resident payments.
- Collaborate with HQ on transfer pricing matters and related documentation.
- Global Accounts Payable (AP)
- Lead, mentor, and develop a regional AP team supporting 17 Business Units.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, supplier payments, employee T&E claims, and corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Support month‑end close activities related to AP, including Malaysia entity balance sheet and P&L preparation.
- Prepare AP reports and analytics for HQ and Business Units as part of month‑end and performance reviews.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Participate in system enhancement projects, including SAP optimization and AI‑enabled invoice automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are an added advantage.
- Minimum 5–7 years of AP/Finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards, financial reporting, and Malaysian taxation requirements (SST, WHT), as well as other statutory obligations.
- Experience in SAP enhancements, process improvements, or finance digitalisation initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, ideally within a regional or shared‑services environment.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced, global environment, including balancing both country finance and regional AP responsibilities.
