A leading technology solutions provider in Malaysia is seeking a Smart Solution Field Service Engineer responsible for on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of smart solutions. The Smart Solution Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing on‑site technical support, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of Vertiv's Smart Solutions, including modular data centers, integrated power and cooling systems, and critical IT infrastructure. The role requires a strong technical background, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently to ensure customer satisfaction and system reliability.
Perform on‑site installation, configuration, and commissioning of Smart Solutions equipment.
Ensure proper integration of power, cooling, and IT infrastructure.
Conduct system performance tests and ensure functionality as per specifications.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for modular data centers and other Smart Solutions.
Provide remote and on‑site technical assistance to customers.
Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
Conduct routine inspections and servicing to ensure system reliability.
Replace faulty components and perform firmware/software upgrades.
Maintain detailed service reports and maintenance records.
Educate customers on best practices for system operation and maintenance.
Provide guidance on optimizing power and cooling efficiency.
Provide 24/7 support for critical system failures and downtime events.
Ensure rapid response to minimize service disruptions.
Ensure all service activities comply with safety, industry, and regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, reports, and service logs.
Provide feedback to the engineering and product teams to improve Smart Solutions.
Participate in training and certification programs to stay updated on the latest technologies.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
2+ years of experience in field service, technical support, or maintenance of power, cooling, or IT infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of UPS systems, cooling solutions, networking, and modular data centers.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Experience with firmware updates, software configurations, and system calibrations.
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
Willingness to travel and work on‑site at customer locations.
Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, internal teams, and vendors.
Certifications in UPS, power, cooling, or data center infrastructure (e.g., Vertiv, Schneider, APC).
Hands‑on experience with DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) software.
Knowledge of IoT‑enabled smart solutions and remote monitoring tools.
