Position Summary
The role requires you to manage rides maintenance activities in compliance to the local authority requirement, Merlin operations and safety standard. You will be assisting the Rides Mechanical Manager and the team in achieving the departmental goal. This role requires someone who has high technical skills, team management and problem solving.

You are expected to embrace the vision and values of the business to deliver highest standards of safety and compliance. You will also be involved in planning and organizational assignments of projects and monitor the progress to ensure completion within the timeline. You will be managing a set of team members providing them the required support, motivation and leadership practices that align with positive safety culture.

Responsibilities
  1. Leads and provides hands on approach to ride technicians team in executing PPM accordance to Merlin standard and ride manufacturer requirement.
  2. Manage and ensure rides PPM critical data and defect recorded correctly. Manage data trending and defect traceability.
  3. Reactive maintenance – Work closely with the team to reduce downtime as per company standard.
  4. Review rides specific SOP and COSWP to ensure content is relevant and have sufficient details.
  5. Develop training needs analysis for ride specific knowledge/skills. Deliver training to the team objectively to improve the integrity and quality of inspection.
  6. Provide comprehensive monthly reports related to technician training & competency, rides spotcheck, PPM, critical data trending and rides downtime analysis.
  7. Act as a rides mechanical liaison between all departments.
  8. Train mechanical supervisors and senior technicians to ensure continuity in rides maintenance processes.
  9. Ability to perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting especially on rides maintenance system.
  10. Have basic understanding on PLC and ride control system, to assist on high level ride fault findings.
  11. Capable to read electrical schematic diagram and provide training to the team.
Management
  1. Assist the Rides Mechanical Manager in regards to development and implementation of the annual maintenance, operating and labor budget and working within the budget.
  2. Manages and supervises all activities of employees. Duties include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complains and resolving problems.
  3. Ensures that all maintenance employees adhere to Merlin, LEGOLAND and departmental policies at all times.
  4. Create and maintain a harmonious work environment includes instill on productivity, team-work, creating work challenges for building/developing employees’ skill to achieve work satisfaction among the team.
  5. Adhere to Merlin and company’s grooming standard to reflect a professional image and to inspect and ensure that all team members maintain their grooming standard, professional behavior, demeanor and good work ethics.
  6. Preparing periodical report(s).
People
  1. Development of interviewing structure and overseeing the hiring of departmental personnel.
  2. Responsible for team member’s career development planning and help develop their skills.
  3. Initiate the necessary internal/external training required to improve their knowledge and quality of work.
  4. Conducts weekly staff meetings for the purpose of directing, informing, training and motivating maintenance Model Citizens.
  5. Feedback session to review supervisors and Model Citizens in regards to job performance and discusses the review with the MC and Rides Mechanical Manager on a regular basis.
  6. To address disciplinary issues by providing coaching/counseling to the employee.
  7. Review all Model Citizen scheduling with supervision.
Safety, Health & Environment Responsibilities
  1. Mc’s are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Safety Policy.
  2. Mc’s must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that the employees in their team are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it.
  3. Mc’s must ensure that safe working practices are monitored, and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly.
  4. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
Background and Experience

Familiar with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

A minimum of seven (7) years in rides maintenance field is required with at least 5 years of supervisor / managerial experience is required

Experienced in reading blueprints pertaining to rides engineering.

Knowledgeable about mechanical and electrical maintenance requirements of rides and equipment.

Experienced in planning and managing preventive maintenance system

Have good communication, administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects.

Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Demonstrated strong leadership skills; experienced in leading a task or project

Experienced in budget and capex planning

Experienced in conducting meetings, briefing, short-take and ability to delegate jobs

Ability to manage staffs’ issues and familiar with the hiring and interview process

Education

Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site, and interact with employees.
  • Ability to climb stairs to gain access to upper level of buildings.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
  • Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
Other Requirement
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and passport
  • Must be willing to travel locally and regionally to conduct business
  • Maintaining confidentiality within the organization and protect any information that classified as confidential
  • Maintaining honesty and integrity with superior, subordinates and guests
  • Complying with the company’s grooming standard
