Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Malaysia is seeking a Facilities Engineer to manage both Mechanical and Electrical systems on site. Responsibilities include overseeing engineering and maintenance works, ensuring efficient operation, and supervising the maintenance team. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and has 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing facilities. Excellent communication and PC skills are required, along with a commitment to minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering and maintenance of Mechanical equipment on site.
  • Oversee the control of maintenance expenses to minimize wastage.
  • Supervise Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities for Mechanical and Electrical equipment.
  • Guide and coach the Plant Technicians on maintenance technical knowledge.

Job description
Responsibilities and Duties (Mechanical):
  • Responsible to manage engineering and maintenance works in the fields of Mechanical equipment and system on site.
  • Responsible for the control of maintenance expenses with to minimizing wastage.
  • Emphasized emergency procedures and electrical safety at workplace.
  • Utilities capacity tracking and sufficiency.
  • Maintenance of HVAC equipment consist of chillers, cooling towers, CDA's, Boilers, Process Gas & etc.
  • Provide support for operational issues and root couse analysis with standard problem-solving knowledge of the systems.
  • To Plan and improve TPM Program for mechanical installations to ensure zero interruption to operation.
  • Responsible for managing daily clean room and non-clean room temperature, humidify and particle count. Ensure All the reading with inspecification all the time.
  • Review and support capacity analysis for mechanical systems & review mechanical system risk analysis.
  • Support facilities system expansion and base built project for mechanical side.
  • Plan, schedule and supervise Preventive and Corrective Maintenance work activities, priorities and relocate resource when required on Mechanical equipment.
  • To supervise a team of outsourced service contractors in daily facilities maintenance activities.
  • Any other relevant and related responsibilities may be assigned to from time to time as required by superior.
Responsibilities and Duties (Electrical):
  • Responsible to manage engineering and maintenance works in the fields of Electrical equipment and system on site.
  • Responsible for the control of maintenance expenses electricity with to minimizing wastage.
  • Emphasizes emergency procedures and electrical safety at work place
  • Utilities capacity tracking and sufficiency
  • Maintenance of electrical low & medium voltage system, emergency generator, Transformers, UPS, Power quality equipment & etc.
  • Protection relays calibration, switchgear maintenance, protection system design, infrared scanning, & partial discharge
  • Conduct Electrical system and arc flash studies for existing system and expansion projects.
  • Provide support for operational issues and root cause analysis with standard problem-solving knowledge of the systems.
  • To pan and improve TPM program for electrical installation to ensure zero interruption to operation
  • Review and support capacity analysis for electrical systems & review electrical system risk analysis
  • Support facilities system expansion and base built project for electrical discipline
  • Advise operational expenses for electrical system, inventory and electricity forecast.
  • Plan, schedule and supervise Preventive and Corrective Maintenance work activities, priorities and reallocate resource when required, on Electrical equipment
  • Liaison with Authority(TNB & Energy Commission), Energy Report submission, Electrical Visiting Engineer & Energy Manager
  • Work closely with inhouse contractor on daily electrical issues and electrical improvement plans.
  • To guide & coach the Plant Technicians to improve their plant maintenance technical knowledge and service.
  • Project management (Hookup, Retrofit, Expansion)
  • To supervise a team of outsourced service contractors in daily Facilities Maintenance activities
  • Any other relevant and related responsibilities may be assigned to from time to time as required by superior.
Requirements :
  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years working experience in Manufacturing Facilities as Facilities Engineer.
  • Familiar in building automation system and possess strong PC computer skills (Excel, Power point, Auto Cad).
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills, problem solving/conflict management skills, committed, trustworthy and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Applicants must be willing to work at Batu Kawan, Penang.
