Job description
JOB SUMMARY
  • Responsible for carrying out strategic efforts including crafting long-term strategic plans and developing strategic goals for the organisation.
  • Responsible for collecting quantitative and qualitative data as input to the organisation's strategy formulation process.
  • Responsible for identifying and analysing current and future trends as well as developing comprehensive scenario planning to formulate the EPF’s strategic plans.
  • Responsible for conducting engagement sessions and providing advisory support for internal stakeholders in relation to the implementation of EPF strategic plans.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY ROLE
1. Develop Enterprise Strategy
  • Develop and implement short, medium and long-term strategic plans, as well as conceptualise, strategise and lead the corporate plan, ensuring alignment with overall organisational purpose, mission and goals.
  • Support the development of the EPF's Strategic Plan including conducting engagement sessions, collating and analysing data, identifying, developing and implementing strategies and initiatives as well as preparing recommendation papers to be presented to Management.
  • Conduct comprehensive scenario planning exercises, including identifying key internal and external drivers that may influence future scenarios.
  • Develop scenarios and construct narratives in charting the long-term plan for the organisation.
  • Formulate organisational growth strategies, ensuring the organisation remains relevant and future‑fit.
2. Conduct Research and Analysis
  • Conduct research and analysis related to global megatrends, perform benchmarking exercises on industry best practices, and identify opportunities and challenges for the EPF.
  • Develop and produce structured reports on research related to strategic issues as well as business and operational challenges.
3. Provide Strategic Advisory services
  • Conduct engagement sessions with key stakeholders and provide strategic advisory services in relation to all strategic matters pertaining to the EPF.
  • Manage cross‑divisional stakeholders' expectations in matters related to EPF’s strategic plans.
SECONDARY ROLE
  • Provide support to the Enterprise Scorecard & Performance and Business Proposal Evaluation units, ensuring the organisational goals and strategies are realised.
  • Collaborate with other sections within the department in identifying opportunities and challenges, including new growth areas for the organisation.
  • Support other cross‑unit and cross‑sectional tasks in ensuring departmental goals are fulfilled.
  • Assist in ad‑hoc requests as and when required by Head of Department or Head of Section or other delegated tasks within the department.
  • Support departmental planning, budgeting, and administrative processes, including data management, risk tracking, and reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation such as operational manuals, scorecards, and work plans.
  • Participate in internal knowledge‑sharing sessions and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors to support team objectives and organisational priorities.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Possess a Bachelor Degree or Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Economics, Business Management, Finance, Strategic Planning, Accounting or equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government from any local or overseas higher learning institution.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in Strategic Planning / Corporate Planning, Business Transformation / Management Consulting.
  • Possess a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) would be an added advantage.
  • Strong written and presentation skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Good data analytical skills would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Obtain a pass in Bahasa Melayu, including an oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
