Job summary

A leading hospitality organization located in Penang, Malaysia is looking for a Sales Manager to manage accounts and promote hotel services. This role involves regular communication with customers, developing promotional packages, and participating in relevant events. The candidate should ensure effective follow-up on customer inquiries and collaboration with hotel departments. Strong sales skills and experience in hospitality are preferred.

  • Conduct solicitation calls on assigned accounts selling hotel space and services.
  • Maintain regular sales/service contacts with assigned accounts.
  • Develop special promotions or packages for the Sales Manager's review.
  • Participate in industry and civic organization representing business opportunities.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from customers and prospects.
Job description
Responsibilities
  • Direct solicitation calls on assigned accounts selling all hotel space and services.
  • Direct solicitation calls on potential new accounts.
  • Regular sales/service contacts, by telephone or correspondence, with assigned accounts.
  • Development of recommended special promotions or packages, submitting recommendations to the Sales Manager for review and approval.
  • Conduct of informational programs directed to personnel of assigned accounts to keep them fully informed as to the hotel.
  • Active participation in industry and civic organization representing opportunities for business, such participation to be approved by the Sales Manager.
  • Segments accounts as to markets, trade, and source of business.
  • Prompt response to all inquiries or correspondence from customers and prospects.
  • Dissemination of information of general interest to all personnel in the hotel sales department.
  • Preparation and submission of such regular or special reports as may be required by the Sales Manager.
  • Close cooperation with other hotel departments in arranging accommodations, services, special events for booked business.
  • Maintenance of adequate files on assigned accounts.
  • Participation in sales department meetings.
  • Other jobs that the sales may deem necessary to assign.
  • Develops a highly effective systematic follow-up system.
  • Attends trade shows, travel functions, major business functions aiming at offering door prices.

Overall, to perform duties common to General Management and other duties as may be assigned.
