Job description

Overview

Monitor and control routine production operation in terms of cutting tools usage, manpower arrangement, disciplinary related issues and safety related work at Sheet Finishing area. Coordinate and work closely with counterpart departments in the routine production process.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead the Small Group for improvement activities at Sheet Finishing process and ensure all the expected deadlines are met.
• Prepare related reports or presentation on the performance for Sheet Finishing and corrective actions plan for further improvement.
• Responsible for optimum labour manning and operations control to establish smooth production flow.
• Ensure finishing schedules are followed and plans to cope with ever changing delivery.
• Conducts inspection with SHE at sheet finishing area to ensure department comply to safety requirement.
• Ensure training on safety and health including toolbox talks is being carried out.
• Remind the workforce on quality awareness to meet the more stringent export specifications.
• Work closely with Maintenance and Production Control to schedule guillotines for maintenance.
• Check and upgrade guillotine wherever possible to improve quality, capacity and capability to reduce cost.
• Liaise with QC department on product quality issue.
• Liaise with the production department if the rejects product come from Production Department.
• Inspect the finished goods from time to time with the quality parameters to ensure products with good quality.
• Constantly arrange for product recovery if there is product deficiency to reduce wastage.
• Reduce good sheets reject during size change to reduce scrap and reduce cost of waste disposal.
• Ensure final rejects are recycled for FC pallets and FC blocks.
• Liaise with contractor to fabricate Bonded sheets, cubical boards, DecoWood & UCO Additives packing.
• Involved in the MPI (Monthly Plant Inspection), SGA (Small Group Activities) and Annual and Monthly inspection.
• Prepare monthly interleaver/steamer strips usage, downtime and rejects analysis for Assistant Manager - Sheet Finishing.
• Whenever required, assist the Sheet Machine personnel to rectify fault.
• Conduct inspections and records for all Dust Collector - Air Pollution Control Systems.
• Prepare HIRARC and SWP and cascade down to the employees by conducting briefing and toolbox talk.
• Write the MR, GCN, RP for approval.
• Non allergic to dusty working environment.
• Working on a on-call basis (24 Hours) during production process.
• Able to handle subordinates effectively (>50 Headcount).
• Show good example in terms of discipline, work passion and knowledge to subordinates.
