A leading engineering firm in Kedah, Malaysia is looking for an Engineer II, Maintenance to oversee equipment troubleshooting and maintenance. The role encompasses leading a team of technicians, planning preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in pneumatic systems and PLC management. Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with SAP PM module are crucial for success in this role.
Our Kulim site is seeking a Engineer II, Maintenance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, developing and implementing effective solutions, and assessing equipment conditions to support the plant’s business objectives. Key areas of responsibility include pneumatic systems, maintenance assemblies, multidosing systems, baking and curing equipment, testing equipment, and SAP system management.
Lead, develop, train, and evaluate Maintenance Technicians in executing daily tasks, managing work schedules, performing maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives for machinery, equipment, and auxiliary systems to support plant objectives.
Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions for machinery, equipment, and related processes.
Collaborate with Facilities, Operations, Planning, and Management teams to ensure equipment availability, timely repairs, and efficient maintenance execution.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for machinery and equipment, including repair forecasts and detailed reports on maintenance activities, costs, and quality improvements.
Plan, execute, and coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
Monitor and manage spare parts inventory and procurement to ensure availability and cost-efficiency.
Develop and implement equipment procedures and work instructions to enhance operational consistency and safety.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with documented procedures and relevant regulatory standards.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives related to new projects or improvement activities as assigned.
Continuously monitor and evaluate equipment performance to maintain operational efficiency.
Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors and vendors on maintenance-related activities, representing management as needed.
Identify and implement opportunities for equipment and process improvements.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of new machinery, robots, and equipment.
Maintain maintenance documentation in accordance with ISO standards and requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, with a strong emphasis on pneumatic systems, mechatronics, PLCs, and electrical components.
In-depth knowledge of pneumatic systems and their practical applications.
Strong proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs and electrical systems.
Previous experience as a Preventive Maintenance Engineer is highly preferred.
Strong hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of PLC systems.
Familiar with the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module, particularly in managing equipment data and coordinating maintenance activities.
