Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Kota Tinggi, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced electrical technician to perform maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Knowledge of electrical safety standards and strong electrical skills are essential. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance of pumps, motors, actuators, and electrical lighting distribution boards.
• Carry out installation of electrical circuits, lighting systems, power points, and distribution boards.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and fault diagnosis on electrical systems.
• Execute electrical testing and commissioning works in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure all work adheres to Energy Market Authority (EMA) regulations and site safety standards.
• Work closely with supervisors, engineers, clients, and other trades on-site.
• Handle tools, materials, and client-owned assets responsibly.

Job description

Routine Maintenance:

Perform regular maintenance of pumps, motors, actuators, and electrical lighting distribution boards (DBs).

Electrical Installation & Wiring:

Carry out installation of electrical circuits, lighting systems, power points, and distribution boards in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and fault diagnosis on electrical systems and components to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

Testing & Commissioning:

Execute electrical testing and commissioning works in compliance with relevant codes of practice and regulatory requirements.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all work adheres to Energy Market Authority (EMA) regulations and site safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation and records.

Coordination:

Work closely with supervisors, engineers, clients, and other trades on-site to ensure smooth progress of electrical works.

Asset Care:

Handle tools, materials, and client-owned assets responsibly to prevent damage or misuse.

Requirements

3–5 years of relevant working experience

Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Registered Chargeman (A4/A0) — if required
