Job description

Overview :

To lead the Electrical & Instrumentation Team in performing duties related to maintenance activities and provide technical support to achieve the company's operational KPIs.

Responsibilities :

  1. Ensure safe and smooth operations of the entire Electrical Installation and monitor High Voltage facility equipment performance.
  2. Responsible for energy management and electricity saving strategies.
  3. Monitor and analyze causes of machine downtime and ensure scheduled maintenance is carried out on time.
  4. Maintain and improve system documentation procedures, policies, work instructions, and scope of work as part of continuous improvement beyond ISO 9000, GMP, and Food Safety standards.
  5. Manage and communicate regularly with the maintenance team to ensure effective communication regarding maintenance issues, including training and development.
  6. Liaise with utility providers or government regulatory bodies such as TNB, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, and DOSH to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  7. Ensure successful startup of plant commissioning and operation from a maintenance perspective.
  8. Implement electricity energy reduction practices to achieve and optimize high energy efficiency, resulting in cost savings.
  9. Ensure cost-effective maintenance and repairs of electrical/instrument equipment and machinery.
  10. Prepare reports, analyze E&I data, develop optimal solutions, and lead implementation.
  11. Execute verification and calibration of secondary standard equipment and process instrument systems in a timely manner.
  12. Plan, liaise, issue, maintain documentation, monitor performance, and ensure related SAP-PM tasks and projects are completed correctly, efficiently, and on schedule.
  13. Manage and supervise contractors involved in new E&I system installation, improvement, repair, and service work.
  14. Identify risks and hazards during operations and ensure adherence to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
  15. Establish standard procedures and maintain control documents related to E&I processes with proper filing.
  16. Ensure planned, organized, and controlled execution of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance to optimize equipment reliability and efficiency.
  17. Participate in and recommend improvements to maintenance and production operations from an E&I perspective.
  18. Adhere to company safety rules and regulations.

Requirements :

  1. Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  2. Preferably BO Chargeman Certificate by Suruhanjaya Tenaga or certificates from ILP/IKM, with BO 11 or 33KV certification by Suruhanjanga Tenaga.
  3. Experience in Process Instrumentation, verification, and calibration.
  4. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a similar or process industry.
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  6. Ability to operate in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  7. Experience in interviewing, hiring, training maintenance staff, and managing performance and discipline.
  8. Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ability to instruct others in its use.
  9. Knowledge of Electricity Supply Act and Regulations, IEEE wiring regulations.
  10. Good knowledge of DCS/SCADA/HMI systems, system integration, and equipment monitoring systems.
