Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, helping ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality data pipelines. This position is ideal for candidates who already have some hands-on experience in data engineering and are eager to grow their technical depth in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. A passion for gaming and data-driven decision-making is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for data collection, storage, processing, and analysis.
- Improve and optimize existing pipelines to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement best practices for data quality, security, and error handling.
Data Warehouse and Database Management
- Design, develop, and maintain data warehouses to support ETL/ELT processes based on business, analyst, or data science requirements.
- Manage, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL and NoSQL database systems.
- Write efficient, maintainable queries and data models to support analytics and reporting.
Data Integration and Collaboration
- Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources while ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and product teams to understand data needs and improve data accessibility.
- Support query performance optimization and data exploration use cases.
Automation and Monitoring
- Automate data processing and validation workflows.
- Monitor data pipelines and systems, identify issues, and proactively resolve data quality or performance problems.
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing around data systems and processes.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 1–3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related role (relevant internships, co-ops, or projects count).
- Working knowledge of data pipeline development, ETL/ELT processes, and basic data architecture concepts.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and adapt to evolving requirements.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, or similar).
- Exposure to data warehousing solutions (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
- Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience supporting analytics or data science teams.
