Job Description

Supply Chain Management

  1. Manage the Contract Procurement Plan and regularly report on performance.
  2. Facilitate project/campus-level vendor oversight and performance management.
  3. Provide audit and oversight of the GC trade subcontract procurement plan including the recommendation of client nominated bidders.

Contract Management

  1. Work closely with the project on-site team to ensure effective and timely document processing and management of contract documents.
  2. Be involved in all post-award activities on site that relate to contracts. Provide contractual review on all change orders to be processed.
  3. Attend weekly change triage meetings to provide contract support on potential change orders.
  4. Draft contractual notices for the Microsoft team to be issued to the GCs and other vendors; document and track all notices and responses proactively.
  5. Track contractual milestones and collaborate with the DCD Program Manager to ensure alignment with the project schedule.
  6. Support the claims management process.
  7. Be the front-liner to manage the Dispute Resolution Process as appropriate in support of FTE Contracts Manager and CELA.
  8. Handle insurance management for all contracts; liaise with the Microsoft-selected insurance company on renewals and extensions required.
  9. Manage the Stage 2 Lump Sum / GMP process and engage the Project Controls team as appropriate.
  10. Provide on-the-job contract advice to the Microsoft Project Management team.
Qualifications
  1. Experience in Contract Management, Cost Management or Cost Engineering project environment.
  2. Prior experience in data center construction.
  3. Chartered (desirable).
  4. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in related technical field or legal background.
  5. Ability to work with Cost Managers and report to Microsoft senior management.
  6. Excellent client relationship skills.
  7. Excellent contract and cost negotiation skills.
  8. Excellent verbal and written business communication skills; experience in preparing contractual and legal documents.
  9. Knowledge of and ability to perform to industry standards and practices:
    • ASPE (American Society of Professional Estimators)
    • CSI (Construction Specification Institute)
    • AACEI (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering)
    • SCEA (Society of Cost Estimating and Analysis)
    • RICS (The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
