Job summary

A leading oil refining company in Port Dickson is looking for a Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) Technician on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, conducting condition monitoring activities, and managing equipment performance. Applicants should have relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry, along with a diploma in Mechanical or a similar qualification. This role requires familiarity with vibration monitoring tools and the ability to conduct in-situ rotor balancing and ultrasound activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification Diploma in Mechanical or similar equivalent qualifications.
  • Condition monitoring certification by Mobius Institute Level 1 or Level 2.
  • At least 4 -5 years of experience in condition based monitoring role in Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Familiar with vibration monitoring devices.
  • Able to perform ultrasound, thermography and in situ rotor balancing.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out troubleshooting and failure investigation of equipment.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine condition monitoring activities safely.
  • Collect and upload operational parameters into the Machine Analyst database.
  • Identify and report machines with chronic problems.
  • Coordinate with maintenance scheduler for job prioritization.

Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) Technician (Contract)

Carry out troubleshooting, failure investigation, in-situ rotor balancing, performance testing and commissioning checks of newly installed equipment.

Carry out routine and non-routine Condition Monitoring activities effectively and safely.

Collect vibration and operational parameters and upload into the Machine Analyst database. Review all exception reports in the database on daily basis.

Identify and report machines with chronic problems and recommend necessary actions.

Carry out commissioning checks of newly installed rotating equipment.

Support troubleshooting and failure investigations. Coordinate with operation in troubleshooting activities at site as necessary.

Support asset teams in troubleshooting and implementation of improvement initiatives.

Maintain and improve common HSE performance.

Coordinate with maintenance scheduler in prioritizing, scheduling, and alignment of jobs with planned activities.

Troubleshooting and Improvement of rotating equipment integrity and reliability in HRC.

Identify and suggest best practice and effective condition monitoring program.

Plan and coordinate site activities including pump test run, PM plan, troubleshooting, performance monitoring etc with OPS and other discipline.

Requirement

Minimum qualification Diploma in Mechanical or similar equivalent qualifications. – Condition monitoring certification by Mobius Institute Level 1 or Level 2

At least 4 -5 years of experience in condition based monitoring role in Oil and Gas Industry

Familiar with CSI 2130/40 Analyzer and AMS Health Manager or similar equivalent device for offline vibration monitoring

Able to perform ultrasound, thermography and in situ rotor balancing
