Job summary

A leading testing and certification company in Shah Alam, Malaysia, seeks a dedicated laboratory technician to conduct tests and ensure compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field and 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience. Responsibilities include conducting tests as per SOP, reviewing lab procedures and ensuring all safety protocols are adhered to. A good team player with excellent communication skills is preferred for this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in relevant analytical laboratory.
  • Able to understand the required test standard/procedures.
  • Candidate with experience in oil testing or agriculture analysis is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing according to SOP, QA/QC procedures and ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Adhere to group HSE safety procedures.
  • Establish and review laboratory operating procedures.
  • Ensure quality manual and procedures are documented and followed.
  • Review and issue test results/reports/certificates.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and good laboratory practice.
  • Report any hazard/risk, near-miss and incidents.
  • Meet all Operational Integrity Management System requirements.

Job Description
  • To conduct testing according to SOP, QA/QC procedures in accordance to ISO/IEC 17025 and meeting turnaround time (TAT).
  • To adhere to group HSE safety procedures.
  • To establish and review laboratory operating procedures.
  • Ensure all quality manual and procedures are appropriately documented and followed.
  • Ensuring all results / test reports / certificates are reviewed and issued professionally.
  • To review, check and make sure results accuracy of Proficiency Testing Programme or Round Robin prior submitting to the PT organizer.
  • Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) in the laboratory.
  • To comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) local regulation (Occupational Safety and Health Act 1996, Factory and Machinery Act 1967, Environmental Quality Act 1974).
  • To report any hazard / risk, near-miss and incident in Crystal system.
  • Ensure that all Operational Integrity Management System (OIMS) requirements are met.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Chemistry or related field from recognized university / college.
  • Minimum 1– 2 years’ experience in relevant analytical laboratory with right and positive attitude.
  • Good personality, independent and a good team player.
  • Able to understand the required test standard/procedures.
  • Good communication and written skills in English and/or local language.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Candidate with experience in oil testing or specifically more to agriculture analysis will be added advantage.
