Job description

The Business Development & Strategy Executive plays a key role in driving regional expansion initiatives, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring operational readiness for new market growth (especially Indonesia). This role combines strategy, commercial analysis, supply chain coordination, and project management to ensure the business meets its revenue targets and executes expansion plans effectively.

You will work closely with senior management, the Indonesia team, and cross-functional departments to analyze market opportunities, manage strategic projects, and ensure smooth business execution from planning to fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Strategy & Market Analysis
  • Conduct competitor analysis, market, and pricing studies to support expansion into Indonesia.
  • Analyze product performance, competitor product assortments, and category trends.
  • Support SKU rationalization and recommend new products or design improvements based on market needs.
  • Prepare strategic presentations and business proposals for management and stakeholders.
2. Pricing, Forex & Cost Analysis
  • Track and analyze weekly forex trends (MYR/USD, MYR/IDR, USD/IDR) and prepare insights for management.
  • Assess the impact of commodity price changes (e.g., crude oil) on raw material and product pricing.
  • Recommend pricing structures for Indonesia based on exchange rates, competitor benchmarks, and cost movements.
  • Maintain pricing models and support decision-making on margin management.
3. Project Management for Regional Expansion
  • Act as project coordinator for overseas market setup, ensuring timelines, requirements, and deliverables are met.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Finance, and Production teams to support monthly sales targets.
  • Track fulfilment progress, shipment readiness, and issue escalation to ensure on‑time deliveries.
  • Monitor project risks and proactively propose solutions to keep initiatives on track.
4. Operational & Supply Chain Support
  • Work closely with supply chain teams to ensure stock readiness, sales fulfilment, and accurate forecasting.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely execution of procurement and shipment plans.
  • Support process improvements to streamline workflows between Malaysia HQ and Indonesia operations.
5. Internal Strategy & Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Coordinate alignment across departments on SOPs, staffing structure, warehouse processes, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Assist in documentation, process mapping, and improvement proposals.
6. Reporting & Presentation Development
  • Prepare weekly and monthly management reports on forex, competitor insights, sales fulfilment, and expansion progress.
  • Build clear decks, data summaries, and market reports for senior management and board-level discussions.
Requirements
  • Degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Strategy, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in business development, strategy, supply chain, commercial, or project-based roles. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
