Job summary

A notable travel agency based in Selangor is seeking a Business Development Executive. The role involves developing new business with travel agents, maintaining strong relationships with existing partners, and conducting market research. Candidates should possess a Diploma/Degree in Tourism or Business, along with 3-4 years of experience in the travel industry. Multilingual skills in Chinese, English, and Bahasa Malaysia are an advantage. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work long hours, including on weekends when necessary.

Develop and grow new business opportunity with travel agents, corporate clients, tourism partners, and any potential industry collaborators.

Maintain strong relationships with existing partners to drive repeat business and ensure continuous engagement.

Promote company travel product, packages, and services through effective sales presentations, product briefings, and market visit.

Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer demands, and competitive insights to support product development and sales strategies.

Collaborate closely with internal team (Operations, Product, Marketing) to ensure smooth execution of sales initiatives and client requirements.

Attend client meetings, industry events, travel fairs, and roadshows to increase brand visibility and generate new leads.

Prepare sales proposals, quotations, business reports, and performance updates for management review.

Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets set by the company.

Provide product training and destination updates to partners, enhancing their knowledge and confidence in selling company packages.

Ensure excellent customer support and follow‑up to maintain high service standards and customer or partner satisfaction.

Maintain up‑to‑date client records and files.

Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Job Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Tourism management / Business admin & Management or equivalent to a business‑related field.
  • Minimum 3 – 4 years of working experience in travel industry, preferably in Sales, Business Development, or related fields.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written Chinese, English and Bahasa Malaysia. Those that knows chinese will be an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proactive, confident, and able to engage professionally with partners and clients.
  • Good follow up skill and highly attentive to enquiry.
  • Comfortable working long hours with computer and mobile phone in long hours
  • Basic computer skill (Outlook, excel, Wordpress)
  • Willing to travel when necessary
  • Willing to attend to customer enquiries & tour support via phone during weekend or PH (when necessary)
