Key Responsibilities
Market Entry & Strategic Expansion
  • Entering new countries or regions
  • Establishing new companies, entities, or business lines
  • Expanding into new industries or verticals

Conduct in-depth market research and on-the-ground reconnaissance (rekkie) to evaluate: Market size, demand, and growth potential Competitive landscape and industry dynamics Regulatory, legal, and operational considerations

Develop clear market entry strategies, business cases, and execution roadmaps aligned with company objectives

Business Development & Partnership Strategy

Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic partnerships with local and international stakeholders Engage with potential partners, clients, vendors, regulators, and ecosystem players Lead negotiations, structuring, and early-stage relationship management

Execution Planning & Cross-Functional Coordination

Translate strategic direction into actionable plans, timelines, and milestones Coordinate with internal teams (operations, legal, finance, marketing, etc.) to support execution Act as the key liaison between headquarters and local markets during expansion phases

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

Prepare presentations, proposals, and reports for senior management Communicate effectively with Chinese‑speaking internal stakeholders and external partners Provide regular updates on market findings, risks, opportunities, and progress

Travel & On‑Site Engagement

Travel extensively to target countries and markets, including long‑duration stays when required Represent the company at meetings, site visits, industry events, and negotiations

Requirements

Proven experience in business development, corporate strategy, or market expansion at a senior level

Strong track record in market entry, new business setup, or strategic expansion initiatives

Fluency in Chinese (spoken and written) is mandatory

Experience in Fintech or IT industries are highly preferred

Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills

Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication abilities

Comfortable working independently in unfamiliar markets and environments

Willing and able to travel extensively, including long‑term assignments based on project needs
