A logistics company in Malaysia is seeking a candidate to manage procurement, scheduling, and material availability to ensure smooth manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, liaising with internal teams and freight forwarders, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in import and export-related fields, assisting in order processing and handling customs clearance. The role offers opportunities for continuous improvement and participation in cost reduction initiatives.
Plan and coordinate procurement, production scheduling, and material availability to support manufacturing operations
Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock, minimize shortages, and avoid excess inventory
Liaise with internal teams (sales, production, procurement, shipping, account & warehouse) and external parties (freight forwarders, agents, customers). Track shipment status; follow up to avoid delays.
Work closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Procurement teams to ensure smooth material flow
Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement activities
Assist the export team with order processing, including order confirmation and submission, shipment planning, and coordination with both internal and external parties to ensure timely delivery to the customers.
Assist & handle customs clearance, permits, duty exemptions; ensure compliance with Malaysian regulations and incoterms; coordinate with government bodies for legal / regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
Attend to the authorized department (FMM, MITI, CUSTOM & etc) to submit the related documents
Any other ad hoc duties assign by management from time to time.
Experience in a relevant industry (e.g., Import & export-oriented companies) is advantageous.
