Job summary

A leading legal services firm in Malacca is seeking an experienced attorney to manage and advise on litigations and disputes across ASEAN. The ideal candidate will have over ten years of experience with multinational corporations or major international law firms, and expertise in commercial law matters. Responsibilities include drafting legal documentation for transactions and conducting training on anti-bribery laws. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a growing market.

Qualifications

  • Attorney admitted to practice.
  • At least ten years experience with MNC and/or major international law firm.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and advise litigations, arbitrations and disputes across ASEAN countries.
  • Analyze and advise on law related to commercial issues and product liability.
  • Draft, negotiate and manage legal documentation for commercial transactions.
  • Conduct preventive law training on various topics including anti-bribery laws.
  • Coordinate updates to corporate structures and governance filings.
Job description
  • Manage and advise litigations, arbitrations and disputes across ASEAN countries.
  • Analyze and advise on law and a wide range of legal matters relating to commercial issues, product liability, anti-trust, etc.
  • Draft, negotiate and manage legal documentation for a broad range of commercial transactions (including sales agreements, distributorship agreements, supply agreements, service agreements etc.). Assist in the development of standardized processes and templates / precedents for the efficient delivery of legal services in the region.
  • Formulate and conduct preventive law training on a wide variety of topics, including contracting best practices, US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and equivalent anti-bribery laws, and Honeywell Business Code of Conduct. Assist in workplace compliance issues and internal investigations.
  • Coordinate updates and changes to corporate structures (re-organizations, capital injections etc.) and corporate governance filings with the regulatory authorities (including registration of directors etc.).
