A leading agricultural company in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Executive – Accounts/Finance to support the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in accounting or finance and 1–2 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential. This role demands attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and good communication skills in both English and Malay.
The Assistant Executive – Accounts/Finance will support the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring smooth accounting operations, and upholding statutory compliance. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Assist in managing daily accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL).
Prepare and process supplier invoices, staff claims, payment vouchers, and customer billings.
Record financial transactions accurately and promptly using accounting systems (e.g., SQL, AutoCount, UBS, Xero).
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify supporting documents for all transactions.
Assist in preparing monthly management reports such as Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheet schedules, and Cash Flow summaries.
Support statutory audit processes by preparing schedules, documentation, and communicating with external auditors.
Assist with taxation matters, including preparation of tax schedules and documents for tax agents.
Ensure adherence to company policies, financial standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain proper filing, documentation, and recordkeeping of all financial information.
Prepare online banking payment instructions and coordinate approval processes with management.
Liaise with banks, suppliers, auditors, tax agents, and government authorities when necessary.
Provide administrative and operational support to the Finance Manager for ad-hoc duties or special projects.
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
Professional qualifications (LCCI, CAT, ACCA Fundamentals) are an added advantage.
1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (SQL, AutoCount, UBS, Xero, OfficeCentral).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data organization, and basic analysis.
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication skills in both English and Malay.
Ability to work independently, handle confidential information, and meet tight deadlines.
