Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Application Engineer to join our team at ABS Engineering & Trading Sdn Bhd. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering requirements and practical sales solutions by interpreting customer specifications and selecting the best pump and heat exchanger systems.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret customer technical specifications
• Collaborate with sales team members to prepare quotations and proposal
• Provide guidance and support to sales team members on quotations, proposals, pump specification and compiling datasheet
• Support in sales activities in product application and winning the project is critical & after-sales activities
• Create or modify pump design to meet customer requirements
• Utilize pump-specific formula to predict pump performance
• Create test plans and assurance successful completion
• Perform application testing
• Optimize company inventory levels by prioritizing existing warehouse stock during the pump selection process without compromising technical requirements
• Consult our principals and suppliers in manufacturing of design
• Assist and investigate technical issues either through remote support or on-site support
• Preparing the technical drawings and designs for technical products
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities across all departments
• Provide timely updates and reports to Management on ongoing project
• Perform other ad-hoc task as assigned

Job Requirement

• Possess a Diploma, Degree, or Postgraduate qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related engineering field
• At least 1 year working with pump selections (Software or Manual) or heat exchanger selection (Software)
• Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, BricsCAD, or Solidworks) is highly preferred.
• Knowledgeable in various types of pumps such as Vacuum Pump, Oil Pump, Centrifugal Pump, Air Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) Pump, Valves and Heat Exchanger will be a valued advantage.
• Heat Exchanger technical knowledge would be an advantage
• Understanding of general manufacturing practices
• Good command of English in writing, speaking, and reading
• Willing to work hard to complete urgent project and project clarification pre-order(s) or post-order(s)
