Broad responsibility and leadership for overall operation of a value stream. Improves operation Lean Flow, ensure a safe work environment, maximize operation performance, drive quality improvements, develop a technically qualified work force, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly objectives. Increases the ratio of value to non-value and eliminates waste within site operation and ensures that the value stream meets or exceeds customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
- Works as a change agent and drives out waste in the manufacturing operation through the deployment of Lean methodology with the following goals: Work to Takt Time (balance operations), establish Standard Work, reduce all setup times to <10 minutes, reduce WIP to minimum levels (one piece flow), implement manufacturing cells, improve materials handling and establish TPM maintenance system.
- Defines and improves operation KPI´s such as Safety, Quality, Production Schedule Realization, WIP, OEE, etc.
- Develops strategic action plans toward process change and business evolution through change strategies and long term manufacturing strategies.
- Operational leadership including successful Lean implementation resulting in productivity gains.
- Leads the Value Stream in daily operations and continuous improvements which include but are not limited to: supply chain production control and establishing manufacturing priorities. Emphasizes the creation of continuous product flow, utilize pull systems where flow is not currently possible, and works to level the workload and ensures that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
- Leads the implementation of the techniques and methodologies of Lean Production System (LPS) for the execution of Kaizen projects.
- Plans and executes Value Stream improvements to achieve goals.
SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline required and five years of Lean Transformation experience.
- Experience in Kaizen both as a team member and team leader.
- Basic English communications skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and team building skills in producing results by meeting organizational objectives.
- Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities.
- Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
- Ability to lead/work with multi -functional teams.
- Effectively negotiates when necessary.
- Experienced Continuous Improvement practitioner who must have successfully used continuous improvement tools and methods in the business environment.
