A leading healthcare technology company in Tijuana is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee planning, warehousing, and logistics. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of experience in Materials Management, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and be fluent in Spanish and English. Responsibilities include optimizing the supply chain, directing purchasing activities, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This position leads the planning, warehousing, distribution, and forecasting activities to reduce cost, improve accuracy and customer service assurance of products to our patients.
a) Optimizes the supply chain to meet customer demands and safety stock targets. Develops the processes and procedures needed to support a robust material flow, including such things as: inventory replenishment systems, Kanban, etc.
b) Develops strategies to ensure optimal order fulfillment and risk mitigation controls to reduce supply chain constraints.
c) Directs purchasing management activities to ensure that the overall value of purchased material is assessed by balancing time, quality, delivery, and price.
d) Ensures the supply of raw materials and determines short- and long-term needs to maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and customer requirements. Manages vendors and suppliers to maximize working capital, inventory, quality, and delivery.
e) Leads the logistics and import/export team to ensure they have proper controls and procedures in place to fully
comply with U.S., Mexican and International customs rules and regulations, while maintaining the uninterrupted flow of goods across borders.
f) Formulates, negotiates, and manages material organization goals and budgets, as well as strategies and action plans to achieve those goals. Validates and authorizes standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Materials function.
g) Participation and leadership for the procurement and materials configuration element of new product development projects.
h) Responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements for the Materials Department
i) Develops strategies and implements specific quality and process improvements, as well as cost reduction projects.
Experience:
a) 6+ years experience in Materials Management. In-depth knowledge of materials management, inventory control, demand planning, procurement, and logistics.
b) Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field.
c) APICS Certified preferred.
d) Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems: SAP
e) Experience with Lean Manufacturing or CI methodologies.
f) Proven track record of implementing supply chain optimization strategies and driving measurable improvements in complex supplier networks and global supply chains.
g) Fluent Spanish & English
h) Leadership and Strategic thinking, team player & ability to influence without authority
