We are looking for a Senior Service Technician 4-Stroke to join our Mechanic Field Services Resources team.

In this role, you’ll strengthen our after‑sales support and contribute to complex field service activities related to Wärtsilä’s products — including commissioning, trial tests, adjustments, repairs, and maintenance.

The location for this position is Trieste, Italy.

As a Senior Service Technician 4-Stroke, your responsibilities will include on‑site troubleshooting to identify and resolve mechanical failures related to Wärtsilä’s products. You will inspect completed work to ensure repairs are properly executed and prepare both technical and travel reports. Most of your time will be spent in the field, working directly with clients.

As a Senior Service Technician 4-Stroke, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Execute planned maintainances and repair jobs on Wärtsilä OEM engines and its auxiliaries.
• Overhaul engine components at site/on board.
• Carry out engine product troubleshooting, routine maintenance & components investigation.
• Perform commissioning of Wärtsilä equipment.
• Prepare service work reports and travel expense reports on time and with expected Wärtsilä quality.
• Work by following the Company guidelines including QEHS requirements.

• Technical high school diploma in mechanics and / or BS degree in marine engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Understanding of mechanical principles, especially related to marine engines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Motivation to learn and grow professionally.
• Cultural knowledge and bridging the gaps between different cultures.
• Team‑oriented and collaborative mindset.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to dynamic environments.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites up to 80% of the time, including international assignments when required.
